Accountability Assurance Compliance

From 1 January 2006, new EU food hygiene legislation has applied throughout the UK in the form of The Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006 which consists of 3 basic EU food hygiene regulations.

One of these regulations, Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 states "food business operators shall ensure that all stages of production, storage & distribution of food under their control satisfy the relevant hygiene requirements laid down in this regulation"

  • Why?

Our objective is to provide a complete service designed to systematically and comprehensively clean and sanitise all areas, surfaces, plant, fixtures and fittings within ambient, chilled and FRV food warehouse facilities.

Our wealth of experience and knowledge of best practice and legislative requirements ensures a consistent quality of service whilst mitigating exposure to potential risks and safeguarding your reputation.

All our work is certified and completed to support our clients’ compliance obligations in accordance with the following key legislation:

    • The Food Safety Act 1990
    • The Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/14)
    • The Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013 (SI 2013/2996)
    • European Commission Regulation (EC) No 852/2004
    • The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 (SI 1992/3004)

This will enable clients to demonstrate that 'due diligence' is being exercised and that all reasonable precautions are being taken to effectively maintain food hygiene standards.

  • How?

Our competent, experienced and knowledgeable technicians, utilise the latest innovative methods, specialist equipment and chemicals to effectively remove all contaminants including accumulated grease, dirt and debris that might otherwise compromise the integrity, performance and efficiency of the warehouse environment.

Technicians on-site will have successfully completed an International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) training programme and been awarded the PAL Card (Powered Access License) proving them competent to safely and effectively operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) on-site.

Whilst undertaking the work on-site we ensure that all health and safety requirements such as the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 (SI 2002/2677) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Regulations 2002 (SI 2002/1144) are strictly adhered to at all times.

  • What?

The primary aim of the service is to target those difficult to reach areas and surfaces at high-level that are only accessible using specialist powered access equipment, to ensure that standards of food hygiene and safety within the warehouse environment complies with the ‘due diligence’ requirements of all relevant food hygiene legislation, codes of practice, best practice and guidance.

    • Complete food warehouse deep cleans encompassing:
      • Framework and high-level steel girders
      • Structural surfaces including all ceiling, wall and floor finishes
      • Fixtures and fittings
      • Refrigeration plant (chilled)
      • Storage racking
      • Roller shutter doors
      • Vehicle dock gates
    • Certification of work
    • Detailed method statements and hazard risk assessments

Optionally, to compliment this service, we can arrange to undertake microbiological swab testing before and after cleaning with the results verified by independent laboratory analysis. Standard tests include Total Viable Count (TVC) including bacteria, yeast and mould counts and Enterobacteriaceae but additional pathogenic organisms including Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus aureus and Campylobacter can be routinely tested for, depending on individual requirements.

These results will validate the effectiveness of the cleaning procedures and form an integral part of your Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.

  • When?

At a minimum, the cleaning of such food warehouse environments should be undertaken on an annual basis, however, some locations may require a higher frequency of cleaning dependent on individual circumstances.
